MGC P7M13 Review

MGC P7M13 Review

OVERVIEW

The P7M13 was developed by famous firearm company H&K as a replacement sidearm for the military, however the price, aswell as performance left it out of the competition; it however was widely adopted by police forces.

MGC did an amzing job replicating this firearm, it has all correct trademarks, a working grip safety, and the magazine is even the correct shape aswell! The pistol comes in a very nice polymer case, with a speedloader, gas cannister, keyring opener, and some test BBs.

QUALITY

The replica is extremely heavy as it is made from heavyweight polymer (same as used by WA, marushin, maruzen, and tanaka). it gives this pistol a metallic look and feeling, aswell as some added reliability. ABS models were produced however they are extremely rare. The pistol came in 2 color options (silver, and black) aswell as 2 models, the plain model (seen above) and the Schuemaker, which was aimed at being a competition shooters pistol.

Unfortuanetly this pistol has its downfalls, specifically relating to the grips, and and the cocking mechanism. The grips are screwed into a connecting bar that holds them to the gun, however these were made out of a poorly casted material and will strip out over time, However we do sell replacements for these! The cocking mechanism also relies on a single part that tends to fail. it is a cast part, and over time as you release the slide on the gun it will wear down and eventually, cease to release the slide via the grip safety (you have to powerstroke the slide to release it.)

INTERNALS AND OPERATION

The pistol is considered a second generation GBB gun. while it was not powered by externail air (like the FTC bren ten, marui hi power and such.) it doesnt use a traditional open bolt GBB system as seen today. THe pistol relies on a tube and valve that builds pressure, upon doing this the BB is fired and the slide blows back, when the slide goes backwards, it moves a plastic sheet, which controls the feeding of the BBs into the chamber. Unfortunately this pistol has no adjustable hop-up, but it still has very fair performance at close range.

Besides the 2 parts mentioned above, this pistol is extremely reliable and needs very minimal upkeep to make operational!
