TOP M4 Review

TOP M4 Review

OVERVIEW

The TOP m4 was the companies last project before going defunct, and man did they go all out. This platform was supposed to be the more realistic thing you could buy (which matters in the japanese market.) The full metal receiver was also fairly ground breaking at the time. This rifle series was also meant to compete with the tokyo marui NGRS (Next generation recoil shock) system. This series is recommended to be used on an 11.1 volt lipo and is equipped with a mosfet, a hopup, and all the modern airsoft Jazz.

QUALITY

This rifle is full metal, receiver, rail, etc. which is almost unheard  of coming out of japan, everything feels extremely solid with no wobble anywhere on anything. the barrel seems to be precision made with tight groupings. The box is very solid, and the rifles comes packed in some laser cut foam. a special carry case is included. 2 Versions of the magazine exist, a seel version with a powder coated finish, and a matte black, aluminum magazine. 2 versions of the shells also exist, coming in a metallic finish, as well as a full plastic, non shiny shell

Unfortunately this replica features no trademarks, on any model (which to my knowledge they made a few; a 416, an m4, m16, and xm177). these rifles come out of the box with deans plugs, which is quite innovative, aswell as real steel compatible furniture (to my knowledge)

INTERNALS AND OPERATION

The internals are very well designed, upon taking the upper reciever off reveals a shell enclosing all the internals (similar to a marushin automag). Disassembling further allows us to see the recoil spring which propels the mock bolt forward, as well as your recoil spring for the piston (this gun can be fired without a battery, like a springer.) gears operate the piston and bolt to allow everything to cycle. the extractor also seems to be made of better materials than other shell ejectors (like the maruzen m1100).the air seal is good with the shells and everything seems fairly realistic.
