Western Arms JATIMATIC Review

Western Arms JATIMATIC Review

OVERVIEW

This wacky, finnish SMG is a genius design, the real steel version employees multiple anti-recoil measures, such as a bolt that rides at a 7* angle, tilted barrel, forward grip, and a super low bore axis

Western Arms faithfully recreated this finnish SMG. The box is a plain cardboard box with a black stamped logo featuring the words "cobra", the movie that brought this niche SMG to light.

QUALITY

The build quality of the replica is as one would expect from WA (Western Arms), creaks are minimal and the plastic is better than the average tokyo marui. Trademarks are fairly faithful to the real thing. on the right side of the replica over the ejection port WA has placed a stick er with the words "fire" on it, this is to replicate how the bolt looks when cocked to the rear (gun is open bolt in the real steel world).

Western Arms also released tons of accessories for this platform! from the laser sight featured in the movie Cobra , to a folding stock, making this a nifty PDW, Aswell as a drop leg holster for the gun in mags, side holsters for a trench coat, or even the rare 3 point sling! Wa also released some muzzle devices (an amplifier and a silencer), which use a thumb screw to attach to the barrel, as its not threaded. WA also released an adapter so that one can use external air on this platform!

INTERNALS AND OPERATION

I mentioned that this replica is both gas, and battery powered. WA decided to put the batteries inside the magazine, instead of in the receiver. the battery sits inside the magazine. this replica is powered by 4 AA batteries. these connect with terminals inside to fire. This replica is full auto only, so if you pull the trigger itll all go. however the fire rate is slow enough that, in my opinion you can semi auto it. There is no visible safety besides the folding grip. this replica will not fire when the grip is folded up, just like the real thing

This replica has some very unique internals like the MGC MP5K system. it is a motor driven non blowback, gas replica. Gas is stored in the grip, and transferred to another gas chamber which site in the middle if the gun via a rubber tube. these tubes do dry rot over time however any JATIMATIC purchased from allena irsoft has had its original tubing replaced to prevent this issue! The replica uses an RC motor to spin 2 gears, which have an arm connected to them, that actuates the gas valve.(see below). The internals are full metal, and highly reliable.
