Tokyo Marui Lightning Hawk Deagle Review

Tokyo Marui Lightning Hawk Deagle Review

Overview:

The Tokyo Marui Lightning Hawk is a hidden gem in the airsoft world and a fantastic nod to its counterpart from the Resident Evil video games. This pistol arrives in a super classy wooden crate, sporting a 10-inch ported slide and loads of fun game-related Easter eggs!

Quality:

The pistol is made from Tokyo Marui's top-notch polymer, their newer, squeak-free variety. Weighing in at around 3 pounds with the magazine, it’s as hefty as most fully loaded SMGs. The barrel, while not threaded and stuck with a fixed front sight, boasts a 10-inch length and is ported for cooling—though, let's be honest, airsoft doesn’t really need that! The adjustable rear sight is surprisingly accurate for a pistol, though with that massive barrel, you might mistake it for a rifle! The Deagle's split slide design helps with accuracy, and the ambidextrous safety on the slide, right-side slide catch, and left-side magazine catch are all nice touches. It uses standard Deagle magazines. The pistol comes with two slides: a sleek 10-inch black one and a regular-sized chrome slide. Both pay homage to the Resident Evil franchise and are beautifully crafted. Everything in the custom wooden crate is wrapped in plastic with game references, adding to the fun!

Internals:

Under the hood, it’s a classic Tokyo Marui Desert Eagle with a hammer-operated, gas blowback system and a full-length nozzle. The Lightning Hawk uses the heavy recoil firing system Deagle, not the older model, so get ready for some serious kick! The recoil is monstrous, on par with many GBBR rifles—pretty impressive for a pistol. The magazine is quite efficient, usually lasting through 2-3 uses before needing a gas refill.
